De Belgische SAR helikopter werd gevraagd door het JRCC Den Helder omdat hij zich het dichtst bij de plaats van het ongeval bevond.De omstandigheden waarin de crew deze opdracht heeft uitgevoerd waren alles behalve ideaal. Het was nacht, buien met winterse neerslag en een seastate 4 wat overeenkomt met golven tot 3 meter.Ongeacht deze moeilijke omstandigheden en na een grondige analyse van de risico\u2019s is de crew er toch in geslaagd om de reddingsoperatie succesvol uit te voeren.In een eerste vlucht kwam Recue 05 als eerste luchtmiddel ter plaatse en kon zeven drenkelingen redden uit hun levensbedreigende situatie. Er werd nog een tweede vlucht uitgevoerd door de crew waar nog gezocht werd naar overlevenden tot 01.20 Hr \u2019s nachts.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Het betreft hier een \u201cuitzonderlijke prestatie\u201d geleverd door de bemanning van Rescue 05 en om deze reden wordt hen de\u00a0 prijs \u201cMarie Monseur-Fontaine\u201d toegekend.
